PullTester 28

PullTester 28
Motorized benchtop device for destructive and non-destructive pull force tests up to 5,000 or 10,000 N (1,100 / 2,200 lbf.).

Schleuniger’s PullTester 28 is a dual-range, motorised, bench-top unit designed to measure pulltest forces of wire crimp connections as well ultrasonic metal welding connections on a wider range than single-range pull test devices. These measured values are indispensable parameters (IEC 352-2 standard) for quality control and assurance. This standard requires measurement at the maximum measured force (destructive test). In addition to the base model PullTester 27, the PullTester 28 can also perform non-destructive tests (hold to a specified force). This versatile machine has two measuring ranges, which are individually calibrated enabling use for small or larger wires: PullTester 28 (standard): -2’000 / -5’000 N PullTester 28-10 (special version): -5’000 / -10'000 N

This dual-range capability ensures the highest accuracy for the widest range of applications. Hand actuated or pneumatic pull test devices can give inconsistent data depending on the operator or pull rate. The IEC standard specifies that a pull tester measures with a consistent pull rate. The Schleuniger PullTester 28 is equipped wth a controlled speed motor, ensuring consistent pull rates throughout the measuring range which means repeatable and accurate data. Pull forces can be measured in pounds, New tons or kilo ponds. The terminal holder will be designed and manufactured based on your application. A variety of terminal holders, however, are available upon request.

Applications

The PullTester 28 has additional features over the PullTester 27 to accommodate more stringent test requirements. It can also be integrated with a quality network which ties in crimp height, pull test and crimp force data to ensure a high quality tested product. Pull test data can be stored for future reference or downloaded for statistical evaluation. Both machines are available in two versions (standard: 28: -2’000 / -5’000 N, special version: -5’000 / -10’000 N) and are specially suited for quality assurance in a production environment.
